Baby Bedding FAQs
What is a layette?
This is a collection of items meant for a newborn child. This primarily refers to a child's first wardrobe. However, some people include other things such as a bassinette or stroller in the definition. Common elements of a layette include an outfit for leaving the hospital the first time, sleepwear, onesies, receiving blankets, socks, booties, hats, and birth cloths.
Is it normal for a child to become congested in the first couple weeks?
It is normal and should be expected. Often, new parents think that a newborn is developing allergies in the first week. However, the truth is that the baby is only just barely starting to make mucus on his or her own after about a week. This process can be heard. Keep track of how the child is feeling and learn to distinguish between what is bothering you and what is bothering the baby.
What is attachment parenting?
This is a style of parenting which emphasizes sensitivity and emotional availability for children. It is based on the idea that, humans being social animals, infants are naturally drawn toward seeking closeness. A parent emphasizing this perspective will focus on viewing a situation from the child's viewpoint primarily. For that reason, developmental stages are addressed in a baby-led way, rather than trying to force children to adapt to the schedule of the parents.
